As we move north the desert is spotted with color. These beautiful prickly pear blooms reminded me of carnations. They will soon turn into turn into fruit used in jellies, fruit and wine.
I took this photograph Thursday in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Boulder City, Nevada. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 24-70mm ƒ/2.8 S lens (1/250 sec at ƒ/4.0, ISO 100, 50mm). I edited the image in Adobe Lightroom.
