Black Eagle Falls is the first of five falls on the Missouri River in the area. It was dammed in 1890 for Montana’s first hydroelectric plant. The second and current concrete dam was built in 1926. I took this photograph from the River’s Edge Trail on the south shore.
I took this photograph yesterday in Great Falls, Montana. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 24-70mm ƒ/2.8 S lens (10 secs at ƒ/18, ISO 100, 30mm). I used a five stop ND filter so that I could get a longer exposure. The weird sky color is caused by wildfire smoke in the air. I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
