We visited the nearby Wildlife Refuge this morning and were not disappointed. In addition to adding seven new birds to our “life list,” we saw a coyote, pronghorn and prairie dogs. We saw dozens of these eared grebes in the water. The red eyes kind of freaked me out though.
I took this photograph today in Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge near Great Falls, Montana. I used a Nikon Z5 camera using a NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S lens (1/500 sec at ƒ/5.6, ISO 100, 400mm). I edited and cropped the image in Adobe Lightroom.
